The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of low dose risperidone in treating psychosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and mixed dementia (MD) in a subset of nursing-home residents who had dementia and aggression and who were participating in a randomized placebo-controlled trail of risperidone for aggression. 3. The study reflects a large number of elderly patients with moderate to severe psychosis of AD and MD. 9. About Research Ethics: a. The study was conducted in accordance with the ‘Recommendations Guiding Physicians in Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects’ in the 1989 Declaration of Helsinki. b. Overall, I believe that the well-being of the patients were adequately considered because this study was conducted to decrease psychosis of Alzheimer’s disease and mixed dementia by using low dose risperidone for aggression. 10.
